When selfie sticks first came out, I didn’t see the point. Was it really that hard to hold out your arm to take a selfie? Did you need a stick to do it for you? A selfie stick is definitely not something I would willingly pay for. When I was given the opportunity to test out the Gnome Workshop Selfie Stick in exchange for my honest review, I decided to see what all the hype was about. I’m glad I did.
Since I’ve never used a selfie stick before, I have nothing to compare the Gnome Workshop one to, but I felt it was very well made. It has a sturdy stainless steel extendable arm and rubber handle that fit comfortably in my hand. I was ready to take pictures!
One benefit I quickly discovered about the Gnome Workshop selfie stick, is that it’s great for group shots. Instead of just finding whoever has the longest arms for some ‘long arm photography’, you just attach your phone to the holder on the end, extend the selfie stick, and take the perfect group selfie. I may have been a skeptic before, but I’m a self stick believer now. Great job, Gnome Workshop!

Where to start? When I first heard of Dr. Whitening Nano Brush, I was really excited to try it out. It looked easy to use and not time consuming like other whitening systems. You just brushed your teeth regularly and then used the special nano brush to polish the surface stains away. What’s not to like? Unfortunately, my initial excitement was tapered by a big dose of reality once I tested the product.
The packaging is well made and compact. I liked the solid feel and colors. The nano brush and refills fit neatly inside. My big issue with the packaging is the fact that someone in some position of power approved the mistake heavy directions and advertising pitch on the box. “Use daily or every 15-20 days” and “Just add water and your on your way to a Cleaner, whiter smile” are some of the gems. I can’t really take the company or product seriously with such glaring mistakes.
Dr. Whitening claims to be easy to use, and it is. Just wet the nano brush and scrub at your teeth. The brush looks and feels like a Mr. Clean magic eraser. I felt an almost tingling sensation after use. My teeth felt and looked very clean. I didn’t get any dramatic results but the soda stains did seem to fade a little.
On the down side, it wasn’t easy to change the nano brush after that initial use. After being unsuccessful opening it with my hands, I pried the case open with a nail file. Once open, it was easy to remove the brush tip and replace it. I haven’t had any problems opening since the initial brush change.
Overall, I think it’s a decent product with some noticeable flaws. It doesn’t quite do what it says it does (whiten teeth) but it does make them feel and look clean.

I live in a very arid, sunny climate and, as much as I’d like to ignore the fact that I’m getting older…I am. I never really gave much thought to skin care or moisturizers before. As the fine lines and wrinkles start to form, “meh, whatever” turned to “what do I do about that?” I was happy to test Naturel Commodity Vitamin C Serum in exchange for an honest review. If it worked, great. If it didn’t, I’d be able to mark one product off my ‘to try’ list.
Packaging – I really liked the modern, sleek design of the packaging. It’s small — about the size of a perfume tester bottle — with an attractive silver and orange design. The pump works well to dispense just the right amount of serum onto your finger tips.
Ingredients – There’s a host of all natural ingredients like aloe vera, witch hazel, vitamin A, and vitamin C. The serum itself gives off a very strong citrus scent. It’s not quite oranges and not quite lemons. I initially didn’t like it, but got used to it the longer I used the product.
Performance – For optimal results, it is recommended to put the serum on morning and night. I only did night. I noticed my skin felt softer and smoother. From an average distance away, you couldn’t tell I had any lines on my forehead. I barely get any sleep thanks to three kids with sleep problems so I didn’t expect (and didn’t get) any results for the dark circles under my eyes. I did like how soft and smooth it made my skin. I feel like if I continue with the product, it will help completely smooth out those fine lines on my forehead.
Overall, I would recommend Naturel Commodity Vitamin C Serum. Was it a miracle cure? No. Did it do some of what it claims? Yes.

Glutamine seems to be one of those wonder products that has a potential to help a lot of people. Instead of just being used to amp up your weight lifting regiment or gym session, it also has benefits to people looking to lose weight, recover from muscle soreness after said workout, have more energy, and grow lean muscle mass. While Crosscore Nutrition’s 700 MG Glutamine product may be able to do all that and more, as a mother of three very active girls still struggling to loose that baby weight, I was most interested in weight loss and energy.
Packaging – Crosscore Nutrition’s 700 MG Glutamine comes in an all black bottle with bright blue lettering. It seems geared more towards men and fitness enthusiasts instead of moms trying to lose weight. No buff guy or gal on the packaging claiming we can look like them if we take the supplement. I like the simplicity. Plus, it’s not something I feel like I need to hide away in the medicine cabinet like some weight loss products.
Ingredients – 99.9% Pure L-Glutamine amino acid. The only other ingredient listed is gelatin for the capsule.
Performance – My daily “exercise” routine consists of walking and chasing kids around. I did feel more energetic while taking the Glutamine. Usually I’m exhausted by the end of the day and struggle to stay awake past 8 pm. I enjoyed the boost of sustained energy during the day…I got a lot of work done around the house too! I haven’t seen any weight loss benefits yet but I’m going to stick with it.
I recommend Crosscore Nutrition’s 700 MG Glutamine to anyone looking for a multi purpose supplement that does what it says it does in a natural amount of time. Don’t expect an overnight success or miracle pill. If you go in with reasonably expectations, you’ll be very happy with the results.

After a blog hiatus for the holidays, I’m back with my latest book review for crime thriller KILLER PURSUIT by Jeff Gunhus.
Special Agent Allison McNeil has another tough case to crack. A DC call girl has been murdered. Two hidden cameras were found in her apartment. One is erased to hide the killer’s tracks. The other is connected to an unknown, anonymous person through an encrypted internet connection. Allison must find the missing videos before the killer gets to them first.
KILLER PURSUIT moves along at a very rapid pace. The chapters are REALLY short which helps with the ultra fast pace. The technique reminds me of Mary Higgins Clark’s writing style with short, punchy chapters. Also, while KILLER PURSUIT is the second Allison McNeil Thriller, you do not need to read KILLER WITHIN to enjoy this book. There’s a handy little flashback in the beginning before jumping to the present time and current case. There are enough twists and turns to keep even the most seasoned mystery/thriller/suspense readers guessing. Jeff Gunhus has crafted a really enjoyable, edge of your seat thriller. Time to pick up KILLER WITHIN for my book collection!
Since I signed up for Tomoson, a site where you get free and reduced price products in exchange for an honest review, I’m mostly been doing book reviews. I enjoy reading. It’s a perfect way to discover new authors I may not have been aware of pre-Tomoson. Sometimes I branch out into baby products or weight loss and supplements. I like practical things and NESTL SHEETS 100% soft brushed microfiber sheet set is definitely practical…and comfortable and a host of other adjectives. After looking through the 16 color choice options, I decided on purple eggplant It’s a beautiful dark purple that goes well with any decor.
The sheet set contains a fitted sheet, flat sheet, and 2 pillow cases. I put them on our queen size Tempur-pedic bed in the master bedroom as soon as the package arrived in the mail. We have trouble finding sheets that actually stay on the Tempur-pedic since the mattress is so tall. The deep pockets on the Nestl Sheet worked great. They haven’t slipped off or needed any adjusting since we put them on. The sheets themselves are very soft, silky, and luxurious. My kids keep trying to steal the pillow cases and burrow down into the sheets. They all have sensory processing issues so that’s an added bonus to the Nestl Sheets that I didn’t anticipate — a material my kids can stand to sleep on. I’m very happy with the product and plan to order at least three more sets.
As an added bonus, the Nestl Sheet company said I could share the discount code I received. Now you can get this amazing sheet set in the color and size of your choice for just $20. Enter Code Z1501OFF at check out.
My kids love umbrellas. Sometimes they even pick out an umbrella over a toy if we’re shopping and I ask what they want for a treat. They giggle when the umbrella pops open and twirl it while making up a song about rain. Hey, at least they’re being creative. I can get behind that. Knowing they’d be excited to open that amazon package and find an umbrella inside was one of the reasons I agreed to review Crown Coast Heavy Duty Umbrella at a deeply discounted price.
Crown Coast Umbrellas come in a variety of colors. You can choose from Blue, Dark Green (looks black in the pictures), Pink, Red, Turquoise, White, and Yellow. I decided on yellow. I thought it might be a bright school bus yellow in the can’t-miss-me-walking-down-the-street-in-the-rain variety. I was pleasantly surprised when the package came and it was a muted, butter yellow color. True to form, my kids descended on it and insisted on opening, closing, twirling, and singing about umbrellas.
Unfortunately, my Crown Coast Umbrella couldn’t withstand the onslaught. The great news is, when I contacted customer support about the umbrella breaking so quickly, they replaced it free of charge. It’s advertised that the product has been durability tested to open/close over 6,000 times. I was very pleased that my defective umbrella was replaced so quickly with no questions asked.
Other features of the Crown Coast Umbrella include:
- quick release auto open and close – auto open I’m used to, but auto closed? Once I got used to pushing the button to not only open but close the umbrella, operation was smoother and easier.
- included storage sleeve – this is the same color as the umbrella and keeps in neat and tidy in your purse or wherever you choose to keep it in case of rain.
- wind tunnel tested to 60 mph + winds – this is essentially equivalent to a class 2 hurricane. Not that I or anyone else should plan to go out in the middle of a hurricane but, if you did, the crown coast umbrella would have your back.
Overall, I’m happy with the quality of the product and I am even happier with the Crown Coast customer support. I recommend this product if you’re looking for a good, inexpensive umbrella to keep in your bag, car, office, or wherever you may need one. With all the color choices, I plan to order more than one.
I’ve done a lot of research on all the various diet products that pop up as ‘must have’…and I mean a lot of research. Trying a Colon Cleanse Detox has always been on my radar but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to try it or not. Even though most weight loss plans recommend a 7 day full body detox to flush the toxins out of your system and essentially reboot, I still hesitated. Maybe I felt guilty after one too many fast food lunches. Whatever the reason, I decided to put my reservations aside when I was offered the opportunity to review the Detox Colon Total Body Cleanse.
Besides the weight loss benefit of flushing excess waste and toxins out of your body, the Detox also helps maintain digestive health and keep you regular. It is created from a host of natural ingredients including:
Fennel Seed, Cascara Sagrada, Ginger, Goldenseal, Pumpkin Seed, Buckthorn Root, Licorice Root, Rhubarb, Citrus Pectin, Acidophilus, Acai, Cape Aloe, Bentonite Clay, Aloe Vera, Cayenne Pepper, Senna, Oat Bran, Prune Juice and Flax Seed Oil. The recommended dose is 2 capsules a day. You can either take them both at once with a glass of water or 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon. Since I had never tried a Detox Cleanse before, I started out on the safe side with only 1. The results were in line with other reviews say. In other words, be prepared to spend a lot of time in the bathroom…especially on Day 1.
Within an hour of taking the supplement, I felt an urgent need to use the bathroom. That was the usual pattern for the morning. It tapered off by the afternoon. I could have taken a second pill, but I decided not to on Day 1. Day 2, I took a supplement in the morning. It didn’t feel like it was as effective as Day 1 so I took a 2nd before noon. The absolute highest daily dose is 3 pills. I stuck with 2. Days 3-7 were similar. I needed to take 2 pills instead of 1 to feel like it was cleansing/detoxing. I do feel like, by the end of the week, I had more energy and a clearer mind. I recommend using the cleanse when you’re feeling run down and in need of a reboot. It’s a good jump start to diet plans too.

If you’re struggling to lose weight, there seems to be a new ‘must try’ diet supplement every other minute. After 3 kids and a slowing metabolism, I was looking for something that would give me that boost I needed to reach my weight loss goal. I heard of Garcinia and Green Coffee Bean (what the Cleanse side of this combo pack is). I even tried them separately without a huge amount of success. When I was given the opportunity to test the Advanced Fast Weight Loss Kit, I hoped it would get me over the plateau I’ve found myself on. Usually you see dramatic, exaggerated claims on the packaging. I’ve found that if you go in modest expectations, you won’t be disappointed when you don’t lose that 20 lbs in a month that the advertising claims. Can people really lose 20 lbs in a month? Maybe. Will you? Probably not.
For Garcinia and Green Coffee Bean to be truly effective, you need to take them 30 minutes before meals. It curbs your hunger, appetite, and speeds up your metabolism naturally. If you take it before meals, you will feel full faster which lowers the danger of over-eating. I started out taking the 2 pill combo before breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I soon discovered that taking it on a completely empty stomach before breakfast made me nausea. If you feel you will over eat at breakfast, take the pills with a couple saltines to make sure it doesn’t upset your stomach. I dropped the breakfast dose and took the combo before lunch and dinner. It definitely made it so I didn’t feel hungry — maybe a little too well. I could go 6-8 hours during the day without eating. I would completely forget to eat because I never felt hungry. This may sound good if you are trying to cut calories, but I, again, felt sick from lack of food. I became less and less consistent with taking the supplement. That’s not the fault of the product, but mine. If you’re consistent, you will have better overall results. One thing I did notice is that my tummy looks tighter since I started taking Garcinia/Green Coffee Bean. I consider my stomach my problem area so seeing such noticeable results was worth it for me — even if the pounds didn’t melt off. Next time, I think I’ll add a 7 day colon cleanse before starting the Garcinia/Cleanse Weight Loss Kit.

When I was invited to test and review the Angel Baby Stroller Organizer, I knew it would be useful in my situation. I’m a stay at home mom to three girls — ages 9, 7, and 2. While my “big girls” are in school, my toddler and I love to take long walks in the umbrella stroller. I used to just hang my purse over the stroller handles but, eventually, the strain was too much and my purse straps broke. I’ve been hunting for an acceptable solution since then. Currently, I have a purse size diaper bag that most people don’t even know IS a diaper bag. Unfortunately, when I hang it on the stroller handles, it slips down and annoys my daughter. I carry my diaper bag over my shoulder but I much prefer being able to attach it to the stroller.
Enter Angel Baby Stroller Organizer.
Angel Baby comes in a stylish black design. There are 3 inner pockets — 2 that look like drink/cup holders and one in the middle that’s probably good to pack a snack or perhaps a small ice pack to keep the drinks cold. There’s a small mesh pocket in back as well as a small-ish zippered pocket. The front offers an easy-to-access open-front pocket for a travel size pack of wipes. It does not come with wipes. I added my own.
I like that Angel Baby attaches to the handles of an umbrella stroller with very strong velco. It’s not going anywhere unless you take it off! There’s also a handy carrying strap you can attach if you decide to use it as your every day diaper bag.
Angel Baby Stroller Organizer does not quite have enough space for it to replace my current diaper bag, but I will use it whenever we take a walk with the umbrella stroller. I recommend it if you’re looking for style and versatility.
